Our Story

Our story is rooted right here in the community we call home. Our family relocated to Sebring in 2021 and made Spring Lake our permanent home. As we became part of the community, we saw an opportunity to create the kind of place we wanted to have nearby — a welcoming neighborhood tavern where friends, families, golfers, and neighbors could enjoy great food, cold drinks, entertainment, and time together.

That vision became The Heartland Tavern. Located at Sebring International Golf Resort, The Heartland Tavern is more than just a restaurant and bar. We want it to be a gathering place — a place where you can stop in for lunch, meet friends for drinks, catch the game, enjoy live music, play bar poker or Music Bingo, celebrate a special occasion, or simply relax after a long day.

Our menu brings together New York-inspired favorites and approachable tavern food, including pizza, wings, burgers, heroes, pasta, appetizers and more. Behind the bar, you'll find cold draft and bottled beer, wine, cocktails and spirits — all served in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Being locally owned means the community isn't just where we do business — it's our home. One of our biggest goals for The Heartland Tavern is to use our restaurant and event space to give back. We want to partner with local youth and school sports teams, individual athletes, theater and performing arts programs, schools, organizations, families and other worthwhile causes by hosting fundraising events that bring people together while raising money for the people and programs that make Highlands County special.

We're building The Heartland Tavern around a simple idea: some of the best memories are made around a table. From weekly entertainment and live music to sporting events, community gatherings, fundraisers and celebrations, we want there to always be a reason to come back — and always a familiar face when you do.
